This is the ultimate purification of nitrogen (N2) from a PSA nitrogen generator or a membrane generator.

The “DEOXO” process recombines oxygen and hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst to produce water which will then be collected or evacuated. The benefit of this operation consists in obtaining a nitrogen effluent practically free of oxygen or hydrogen (<1 ppm).

Such a unit can advantageously be supplemented by an adsorption dryer and filters. A gas of very high purity is then obtained. The applications served by CHAUMECA TECHNOLOGY "DEOXO" units are those where it is necessary to use large quantities of high purity nitrogen such as:

• Continuous heat treatment of steels in neutral atmospheres,

• Processes for transporting plastic granules from petrochemical synthesis units (polyethylene).

• The cleaning of irradiated waste from the dismantling of nuclear plants, which is often carried out in a neutral atmosphere (nitrogen N2). The CHAUMECA “recombination” units make it possible to capture the tritium (3H) found at low concentration in the nitrogen to authorize the discharge of this effluent (pure N2 nitrogen).

A CHAUMECA TECHNOLOGY “DEOXO” unit operates without consuming energy, except when water is used for post-treatment cooling.
